LOL ... wot an absolutely grim week ... its been rainin here now all week non stop ... it dont rain much in oz, but wen it does, it really does ... apparenly this is t wettest mnth in t lst 43 yrs 4 Sydney ... fukkin marvellous ...its cold, grey, grim, i av a cold, a hangova and i'm feelin sorry 4 myself at t mo so dont xpect dis 2 b laff a minute folks ... ... its Sunday ere ... jst finished offshore wk, which didnt go gr8 ... i started off da wk as prep skippa which meant i woz in chrg of boat prep, gettin us outta Sydney and 2 our first destination which woz Port Stephens sum 90 miles away ... t weatha ova da weekend previous had been quite devastatin wit floods all ova t place and our boat Arctos ad a hole in it ... Let Loose tho woz ok which woz da boat we woz takin ... ... so course plotted, fuelled up, navig8 us outta MHYC and out tru da Sydney heads, hang a left and keep goin, course 015 degrees give or take ten and c u in da mornin ... we'd been up since 9.00am (yeah i know that aint that early but u'll c y it is actually in a mo) and we only ad 5 on board, so da watch system i worked out woz a rotatin system, 3hrs on and 2 off ... nah said Jim (our instructa) 2 harsh, do 2 watches of 2, 3 on 3 off and u can b da floata ... i.e. if u're needed on deck then u go up weneva ... now 2 me that smax of me bein on all da time ... and gettin no kip ... nah, u'll b da most rested, as t skippa just navig8s and calls in wit da coastal patrol (voluntary service run by aload of old x-army comms guys, they r very nice and patient and occassionally like 2 av a gud chat, rekon they r lonely ... LOL), u'll get plenty of kip ... ... BOLLOX!!!! ...callin in every hr, plottin position every hr, completin log every hr, tryin not 2 b sic as downstairs on a boat all nite is not da place 2 b ... checkin wit crew on deck every so often 2 c wots goin on, changin watches ... BOLLOX ... no bloody sleep wotsoeva !!! we leave MHYC at 3pm (which woz wen i predicted, so gud start) and by 5am (again, close 2 my prediction) we r bashin up and down next 2 a litehouse which looks like da 1 i'm xpectin ... my crew as less confidence as they tink its t next one and they r uncomfortable wit me tellin them that we need 2 steer 2ward gr8 big black silhouette tings that luk like big rocks ... I keep tellin em but they aint avin it ... so down wego and discova t sure phrase that will wake up n e FF instructa at c ...".. AAAAAARRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHH ... ... pilotage abandoned, carry on in a str8 line Tom and we gonna anchor wen we av 5.4meters of wata ... fuk it ... oh yeah, and now we need an anchor watch ... wot fun, sittin on da deck makin sure da boat stays anchored and doesnt float away ... wuppde fukin doo ... bed at 7.30am, woken at 10am cos its my turn for anchor watch, bak 2 bed at 11am and then up again at 12 4 brekkie and day 2 ... I am not a happy bunny, can ya guess that ... but my 1st skippered passage is dun and t rule of thumb is ... no1 is dead, we did not hit n e thin, t boatas no holes, we ended up where we needed 2 b wit no near misses and pretty much i knew where we were all t time (well mostly) ... thanx 2 whoeva invented GPS ... gud job ... LOL ... stars folks, at c at nite t sky is just full of em, but starin at em 4 ages and goin wow look at all those stars is a sure way 2 make yor self feel sic ... LOL! ... i aint gonna bore u wit daz 2 and 3 ... cos it really woz borin ... it woz mor borin than a borin ting thats borin ... altho 2 prove we av ad sum bad weatha ere c rite 4 pics of da boat currently beached at Nobbys Head (not Nuts) near Newcastle, blown there durin said bad weatha ... and on day 4 due 2 comin down wit flu ... which i av while i write and 4 first time my patented just keep drinkin theory didnt work (altho i think its course i cudnt drink regularly enuff while on boat) ... i hopped off at Newcastle and got t train t rest of t way bak ... which woz best move as by Thursday nite I woz a big girl, shivverin in bed, sneezin, coughin and sniffin, wishin i ad sum1 2 luk afta me ... oh well, there there, nevamind ...
